No es una lucha entre la identidad de una comunidad y el progreso urbano, lo \u00fanico que las opone es la pretensi\u00f3n de modernizar lo que se debe preservar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rafaela fue perdiendo su identidad cultural, convengamos que un festival y una bienal no nos convierten en referentes culturales, ser l\u00edderes culturales es mucho m\u00e1s amplio que dos eventos. Y Rafaela lo fue, en el pasado. Ahora se ha propuesto ser polo universitario y muchos j\u00f3venes que ingresan al secundario tienen que recurrir a escuelas de localidades vecinas porque aqu\u00ed no alcanzan los bancos. Lo que no podemos negar es que somos un referente econ\u00f3mico a nivel mundial. Somos l\u00edderes econ\u00f3micos, pero en el camino perdimos el liderazgo cultural, somos l\u00edderes regionales en educaci\u00f3n universitaria y faltan escuelas secundarias. Ahora vamos a ser l\u00edderes con un Hospital que se promociona como de \u00faltima generaci\u00f3n y tenemos que viajar a otras ciudades porque aqu\u00ed las obras sociales no funcionan como debieran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lo mismo pasa con la est\u00e9tica urbana, el de Rafaela parece un crecimiento caprichoso, una identidad renovada cada cuatro a\u00f1os. Un eterno presente, el de cada gobierno que quiere ser el constructor de una moderna identidad, como si eso fuera posible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nuestra ciudad nace en un plano trazado por la Empresa Colonizadora de Guillermo Lehmann, una plaza central con cuatro bulevares hacia los pueblos vecinos Santa Fe, Lehmann, Roca y Susana que en el camino de los pol\u00edticos perdi\u00f3 su nombre. Los inmigrantes le dieron vida. Dos intendentes dieron la identidad urbana al pueblo convertido en ciudad, Octavio Z\u00f3bboli y Rodolfo Muriel. Junto al crecimiento de la poblaci\u00f3n la ciudad fue extendi\u00e9ndose territorialmente, se multiplicaron las plazas y los espacios verdes, venir al centro a pasear casi carece de sentido si lo analizamos racionalmente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Para honrar a quienes nos precedieron s\u00f3lo nos quedan las ruinas de los Almacenes Ripamonti, la Plaza 25 de Mayo, la Placita Honda y los adoquines, tan vapuleados en otra \u00e9poca. Ellos, simplemente, necesitaban restauraci\u00f3n.
