Alberto Solanet y Guillermina Mart\u00ednez Casado de Fuschini; presidente y secretaria respectivamente de la entidad; los abogados recuerdan que \u00abla alimentaci\u00f3n y la hidrataci\u00f3n representan siempre un medio natural de conservaci\u00f3n de la vida\u00bb y que no proporcionarlas constituye \u00abeutanasia por omisi\u00f3n\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>A continuaci\u00f3n el texto completo de la declaraci\u00f3n de la Corporaci\u00f3n de Abogados Cat\u00f3licos:<\/p>\n<p>La Corporaci\u00f3n de Abogados Cat\u00f3licos manifiesta su repudio con relaci\u00f3n al reprobable hecho ocurrido en Italia con relaci\u00f3n a la joven Eluana Englaro, a la que se le provoc\u00f3 artificialmente la muerte al hab\u00e9rsele quitado la alimentaci\u00f3n e hidrataci\u00f3n, hecho que en ese pa\u00eds fue con raz\u00f3n calificado de \u201cprimitivo, inhumano e inaceptable\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>El enfermo que se encuentra en estado vegetativo tiene un innegable derecho \u2013a\u00fan en espera de su fin natural- a una asistencia necesaria b\u00e1sica, tal como la alimentaci\u00f3n, la hidrataci\u00f3n, la higiene, etc. No puede caber duda alguna con respecto a que la alimentaci\u00f3n y la hidrataci\u00f3n \u2013que es lo que le quitaron a Eluana- representan siempre un medio natural de conservaci\u00f3n de la vida, no un acto m\u00e9dico, por lo que el hecho de no continuar proporcion\u00e1ndoselos constituy\u00f3 una verdadera eutanasia por omisi\u00f3n, lo que no debe confundirse con los actos m\u00e9dicos considerados como encarnizamiento terap\u00e9utico, que agreden
