El profesor de 68 a\u00f1os, que trabaja en el Centro de Investigaciones J\u00fclich de la Comunidad Helmholtz, es distinguido con el renombrado premio cient\u00edfico junto con el investigador franc\u00e9s Albert Fert.<\/p>\n<p>Tal como inform\u00f3 el Comit\u00e9 Nobel de la Academia Real Sueca de las Ciencias el martes en Estocolmo, ambos reciben el premio por el descubrimiento de un efecto f\u00edsico, la \u201cmagneto-resistencia gigante\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Ese efecto magn\u00e9tico, que ambos descubrieron independientemente uno de otro en 1988, es utilizado hoy sobre todo en la t\u00e9cnica de discos duros para computadora. Aprovechando ese efecto pueden desarrollarse hoy discos duros de gran capacidad para ordenadores, videograbadoras y reproductores portables de m\u00fasica. El descubrimiento tiene importancia tambi\u00e9n para el desarrollo de una nueva generaci\u00f3n de aparatos electr\u00f3nicos, agreg\u00f3 el Comit\u00e9 Nobel en su fundamentaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>El de F\u00edsica es uno de cinco premios Nobel. La entrega de los premios, dotados con unos 1,1 millones de euros cada uno, tendr\u00e1 lugar el 10 de diciembre.<\/p>\n<p>El \u00faltimo Nobel alem\u00e1n fue tambi\u00e9n un f\u00edsico.
